⭕️ Adam Karakrah, an American child, has been held in an Israeli military prison without trial since July, and Sen. Chris Van Hollen is pressing his case.

Israeli forces arrested the 16-year-old in a raid on his family's home in Sinjil, northeast of Ramallah, Zeteo reported. His father and brother live in Chicago. Israel first accused him of throwing rocks at Israeli vehicles. After that case was closed, he was re-detained "moments before he was set to be released after his family paid bail," according to a Senate resolution Van Hollen introduced in September. Prosecutors now accuse him of involvement in rioting. A US Embassy official who visited him told the family the embassy "cannot interfere with matters of the law," according to Zeteo. Another Palestinian-American, Sama Safi, also remains in Israeli custody. The 20-year-old Birzeit University student, whose family lives in Tampa, was taken from her West Bank home in a predawn raid on June 2 and has been held without formal charge since. A Tampa radio station reported she is accused of taking part in student groups at Birzeit. The Israeli military says it detained her and three other women over "hostile terrorist activity." More than 40 House members and six senators, including Van Hollen, have urged Secretary of State Marco Rubio to secure her release. Drop Sitex spoke to her family. Watch the clip in reply.
