๐ช๐น Tigray's leadership vows to fight on after losing Mekelle
Tigray's TPLF-led regional government said Sunday that its forces have reorganized and will strike federal troops "at a place and time of their choosing."
The statement, issued by the "Central Command of Tigray," accuses Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's government of invasion and genocide and warns that collaborators and looters "will not escape accountability."
It follows the capture of Mekelle, the regional capital, by Ethiopian troops and the federally backed Tigray Peace Force on October 3 after the TPLF withdrew. Federal forces have since pushed north toward Adigrat, near the Eritrean border. On Saturday, the Tigray Peace Force urged TPLF fighters to surrender, offering conditional amnesty.
