๐ข The Pentagon has drawn up plans on President Trump's orders for a short, intense bombing campaign against Iran lasting about three days, the New York Times reported Thursday, citing US officials.
The plans would reportedly target:โจโค Iran's missile and drone stockpiles, much of which the Revolutionary Guards have rebuilt during the warโจโค Energy infrastructureโจโค Revolutionary Guard command posts and headquarters
Vice President JD Vance led senior officials in discussing the options at Camp David last Friday. Separately, Axios reported earlier that US Central Command was ordered to finish preparing for a possible return to major combat operations, and that any strikes would likely also hit nuclear targets.
Trump said Thursday the US "will not be attacking Iran at any time prior to the Midterm Elections" on Nov. 3, citing "productive discussions" with Tehran.
However, a third US aircraft carrier is due in the region by late October. That would be the most US carriers assembled in the Middle East since the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
