🏆 Navi Pillay, who led UN inquiry finding Israel committed genocide in Gaza, wins the Nobel Peace Prize

South African jurist Navi Pillay was recognized by the Norwegian Nobel Committee as “a driving force in the development of an international system of law and order.” A former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, ICC judge, and anti-apartheid advocate, Pillay chaired the UN inquiry that concluded last year that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza. She learned of the award at a legal conference in Nuremberg, Germany — where Nazi leaders were tried after World War II. 🎥 “The last thing I did is the delivery of the report on Gaza, naming what’s happening there as genocide. One of the main reactions to that report is paying tribute to me for my courage. And you can imagine how surprised I was. Why would you need courage to speak the truth?”
