🇫🇷 French President Emmanuel Macron is furious with public broadcaster France 2 for airing a protest sign mocking his wife, Brigitte, according to Le Parisien. The sign appeared on its 1 p.m. news bulletin on Tuesday.

The broadcast opened with a montage of signs from high school student protests in Nantes, Rennes and Lyon. One read "Macron, bz ta prof, pas les nôtres," roughly "Macron, f--- your teacher, not ours." It was a crude jab at his marriage to his former high school drama teacher. Le Parisien reported that Macron is waiting for an apology from the France 2 newsroom. As of Thursday afternoon, none had been issued. Its national editorial director, Julien Duperray, said there was "no intention to highlight one slogan over another." The protests began in mid-September, when students in Créteil, outside Paris, blockaded their school in solidarity with staff striking over shortages. The movement has since disrupted more than 1,000 schools nationwide. Students are demanding replacements for missing teachers, as well as nurses, psychologists and better facilities.
