๐ต๐ฐ Pakistan Denies Report Its Fighter Jets Have Joined Saudi War on Yemen
Pakistani fighter jets are being used in Saudi-led airstrikes against Yemenโs Ansarallah movement, a senior Pakistani military official told the New York Times on condition of anonymity.
A second Pakistani official said Islamabadโs role would focus on air support against Ansarallahโs missile and drone capabilities, rather than ground operations inside Yemen.
Pakistanโs Information Ministry subsequently denied the report, calling it โfake and fabricated.โ
Reuters reports that roughly 8,000 Pakistani troops were already deployed in Saudi Arabia by May, with additional forces now being mobilized under a defense pact with Saudi Arabia and Turkey. In 2015, Pakistanโs parliament voted against joining the Saudi-led war in Yemen.
