⭕️ Guardian columnist Jonathan Freedland says the Green Party's "Zionism is racism" motion is "more extreme than mainstream Palestinian opinion," which he says is the position of Fatah and the Palestinian Authority.

The latest poll from the gold standard in Palestinian public opinion polling says otherwise. In the latest PCPSR survey, from August, Fatah has 24% support, 79% of Palestinians want PA President Mahmoud Abbas to resign, and 65% see the PA as "a burden." Support for a two-state solution is 44%, ie less than half, and a clear majority, 58%, say it's no longer practical because of settlement expansion. Over 72% oppose Hamas disarming before Israel fully withdraws from Gaza. The motion's phrase "by all available means" also does not come from Hamas, as Freedland claims. It repeats a term used in UN General Assembly Resolution 37/43, which in 1982 affirmed the legitimacy of struggle against foreign occupation "by all available means, including armed struggle."
