๐จ Pakistan and Tรผrkiye will immediately deploy troops and military capabilities to Saudi Arabia, the three countries said after an emergency meeting of their Makkah Alliance for Defense in Riyadh on Monday.
The joint statement says the alliance will move "immediately to the practical implementation of the collective defense commitments," with "rapid deployment" of the agreed forces to the kingdom.
The three also condemned the "attempted targeting of Makkah and Madinah." On Sept. 16, the Saudi coalition said it intercepted a drone headed for Mecca but released no evidence. Last week, it said a drone struck an electricity station in Medina, citing wreckage that has not been independently verified. Ansar Allah denied both, calling them "lies" and saying it targets only oil facilities and military bases.
Retired Pakistani Lt. Gen. Nauman Mahmood was named the alliance's first secretary-general.
