๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฉ An airstrike on two World Food Programme trucks in Sudan's South Kordofan state killed a driver on Saturday, the UN agency said Sunday. It was the ninth attack on WFP operations in Sudan this year.

The clearly marked humanitarian vehicles were hit on the supply route between Dilling and Kadugli, the state capital, a day after another WFP vehicle struck an explosive device near Dilling. The WFP did not say who carried out the strike. It called for an impartial investigation and accountability. The agency supplies food to about 58,000 residents and displaced people in Kadugli, where fighting and airstrikes between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces have repeatedly cut off supply lines. Across Sudan, 33.7 million people, including 17.3 million children, urgently need aid this year, and an estimated 825,000 children face severe acute malnutrition. โ–ช๏ธBy Drop Site's Africa correspondent Godfrey Olukya.
