GENSLER WARNS CHINESE AI MODELS POSE CHALLENGE TO U.S. FIRMS
Former SEC Chair Gary Gensler says competition from Chinese AI models complicates efforts to impose stronger safeguards on advanced AI.
He also questioned whether the enormous spending by U.S. AI companies will generate enough revenue to justify the investment.
While acknowledging the U.S. currently leads in AI, Gensler warned that safety risks, heavy spending and Chinese competition remain major challenges for the industry.
